A recent addition to the Tanjung Tokong Tua Pek Kong temple area is a small park that features colorful LED lighted flowers. This small park near the seaside is built about a very small hill behind the temple, with stairs going around it.

This Chinese New Year lanterns exhibition is held throughout the month of February, at Esplanade’s Dewan Sri Pinang compound in George Town.
The exhibition, organized by the Penang state government with sponsorship from private sectors, will be opened to the public from 5pm till 12am everyday till the 26th of February 2017. There are also the 12 Chinese animal zodiacs lanterns on display, along with characters from the popular Pokemon series.
During Chinese New Year, the Kek Lok Si temple complex in Penang will be brightened with lanterns and decorative lighting for almost a month, making it a dazzling spectacle at night.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a national holiday in Malaysia and this year, the holidays start from the 6th to 7th July. In general, the Muslims here will be going back to their hometowns (or balik kampung) to celebrate the festive season with their families.
