The latest mural drawn by Julia Volchkova, a street artist who had also created a number of street art murals in Penang. This latest art work reveals a the relationship portraiture of a family, with a grandmother looking over her small granddaughter, and was inspired a real family that she met.

A recent addition to the series of street arts of George Town is this art mural of a couple riding a bicycle happily, painted by local artist Caryn Koh. Caryn Koh is also the girl featured in another large art mural (Looking Up) painted by street artist Jarus.
This particular art work can be found at Keng Kwee Street (or Lebuh Keng Kwee), the same street where the famous Penang Cendol stall is located.

This artwork titled “Looking Up” depicts a woman (Caryn Koh) looking up from presumably her mobile phone which is being held on her palm. This mural, apparently the largest one in the country, is easily visible if one passes by 1st Avenue shopping mall along Magazine Road. This wall art depicts a woman doing rubber tapping, a process that collects the latex from a rubber tree through an incision made at the bark of the tree. Rubber trees plantations are common in Malaysia, rubber being of the main exports of the country.

As one of the invitees of the Urban Xchange street art festival 2015, Vhils (or his real name Alexandre Farto) is an accomplished Portuguese artist who is well known for his carved portraits on the walls of urban cities. He had also showcased his work worldwide such as Lisbon, Brazil, Paris and London. This large portrait can be found on the wall of an old two-storey building near the ferry terminal in Bagan Luar, Butterworth, Penang.
